Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information this site collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled. It applies to briantboyd.com and the client portal hosted on it.
Information collected
Information you provide. Name, email, phone, company, business type, revenue and tax ranges, and the goals you describe when you submit an application, contact form, event registration, or course waitlist entry.
Payment information. Card details are entered on and processed by Stripe. This site never receives or stores your full card number. We retain only the amount, product, status, and an identifier for the transaction.
Client portal content. Documents you upload, messages you send, tasks assigned to you, and records of which course materials you opened or downloaded.
Technical information. Standard request data such as pages visited and the page a submission came from, used to understand which content is useful.
How information is used
To respond to your inquiry, evaluate an application, deliver and support the services and course materials you purchased, process payments, send transactional email such as confirmations and event reminders, protect intellectual property against misuse, and improve the site.
Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. Marketing email is sent only where you asked to hear from us, and every such message includes an unsubscribe link.
Service providers
Information is shared only with providers that operate the site on our behalf: hosting and database infrastructure, Stripe for payment processing, and an email delivery provider for transactional and subscribed messages. Each is bound to use the data only to provide its service.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit records to your own account. Portal documents are served through short-lived, signed links rather than public URLs, and downloaded course materials are watermarked to the account that requested them. No system is perfectly secure; please do not send highly sensitive material until an engagement is in place.
Retention
Inquiry and client records are kept as long as needed for the relationship and for the record-retention periods that apply to a law practice. You may request deletion of information not subject to a legal retention obligation.
Your choices
You may request a copy of the information held about you, ask for corrections, ask for deletion, or unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Email brian@briantboyd.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Children
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
